The World's Top 09 Fugitives Still on the Run

When it comes to people committing crimes, most fugitives try to do so in such a way that the police and law enforcement agencies cannot find them. While some succeed, most don't, it's just that we as humans make mistakes and others will eventually accept those mistakes. Those caught in the criminal world are convicted and usually spend time in prison or some other place that would make the average person angry.

But the ones that don't get caught, well...let's just say they're either lucky, smart, or really good at hiding and evading the police. Or, they have some kind of high connection with those in the elite places of society. Although government agencies have promised to catch these people one day, it has already proven to be much more difficult than anyone thought. Here are 09 fugitives who were never caught.

  9. Alimjan Tokhtakhunov

Tokhtakhounov is part of a Russian mafia group. Despite being born and raised in Uzbekistan, he looks very Asian, hence his nickname "Taiwanchik". The US government sees Tokhtakhunov as a giant figure in international Eurasian organized crime. He is known to be involved in vehicle theft, human trafficking, illegal arms sales and weapons distribution. He is also sought after to fix events ranging from beauty pageants to Olympic competitions. He was captured in Italy in 2002, but was eventually released and has not been found since. It is possible that he is in Russia.

  8. Davud Ibrahim Kaskar

Kaskar is India's most wanted man. He is the leader of D-Company, an organized crime group based out of Mumbai. He is known to control a criminal empire involved in counterfeiting, arms smuggling, murder and drug trafficking. Although his father was a policeman, this did not slow him down. Kaskar is most wanted in connection with the 1993 Bombay blasts that killed 257 people and injured 713 others. Today, he stands as a "global terrorist". He successfully avoided the freezing of his assets. Kaskar is said to be in Yemen, India or Pakistan.

  7. Matteo Messina Denaro

Denaro has proven to be the world's most notorious organized crime leader over the years. He is known as "Diabolik" and often shows off his money in any way possible. Denaro has everything from expensive cars to women to big houses to jewelry. However, most of the money he got was obtained illegally: through the sale of drugs and even the use of murder. Today, Denaro is said to be climbing the hierarchy within the Italian mafia. Denaro is wanted for his role in the Cosa Nostra campaign in connection with the 1993 bombings. This was put in place to slow down the government's crackdown on the mafia.

  6. Joseph Kony

This guerrilla group spent years establishing and running a theocratic government in Uganda. But their plan involves using brutal means to establish this government. Under Kony's rule, the LRA has abducted many children and displaced at least 2 million people. This group has the highest rate of child abduction in the world. He alone was able to direct and manage the abduction of 60,000 people, half of them children. Most of the abductees were forced to fight for his campaign and beliefs. He even sometimes forces children to kill their own parents. Kony is charged with both war crimes and crimes against humanity.

5. Comida Bond

Tahwili was the kingpin of a Persian crime family operating across Canada. His group is linked to the Triads as well as many other organized crime groups. He is better known as Nino. Although he was once imprisoned in British Columbia, he bribed a guard with $50,000 to free him. The suspect is wanted for torture, drug trafficking, theft and a fraudulent telemarketing business that defrauded Americans of at least $3 million. Tahwili is still free today.

  4. Joaquin Guzman

He became Mexico's top drug lord. Since the 80s, Guzman has been associated with drug trafficking. In 1993, an assassination attempt was made against Guzmán; but the plot failed. Although captured in Guatemala in 1993, he escaped and has not been found since.

  3. James J. Bulger

Bulger has been wanted since the 1970s. He committed several murders or participated in the killing of many people in the 70s and 80s. He is known to be a member of an organized crime group involved in drug trafficking, extortion and sometimes murder. This group spends its time in or near Boston, Massachusetts.

  2. Aribert Heim

More Dr. Aribert Heim, known as Death, was involved as an SS officer. Although he is 94 years old, he is still wanted. He is one of the last few major Nazi fugitives still at large. He left Germany in 1962 and has never been found since. He is accused of killing and torturing prisoners held at the Mauthausen concentration camp. He tortured these people and eventually killed them by injecting poisonous chemicals into the victims' hearts and then operated on them without any anesthesia.
